about

Keep It Together is the band’s much-anticipated second studio album, destined to gain them even more success and a legion of new fans. The new release is a collection of eleven songs penned by Paula McKee and produced by David McKee, with input to musical arrangement from the entire band.

“Power chords, glorious harmonies and sublime guitar interludes all feature in a jangled power pop song that proclaims, ‘We’re back!’” Blabber ‘n’ Smoke.

“These are songs of life and love, written with a canny eye for what works in a live set” Flying Shoes.

“Heartfelt, second album from Scottish roots rockers bristles with hooks and melodies. From the anthemic opener Last Generation to Die, to the acoustic folk influenced closer The Angels’ Share this is a superb set of really strong and memorable songs” Electric Ghost.

The album welcomes drummer, Brendan O’Brien – who “sounds like an authentic Nashville sticks-man” Flying Shoes – to the fold and heralds the McKee’s return from five years in London. Ageing gracefully, Last Generation To Die laments just missing out on eternal life that’s surely just within reach; the Stonesy swagger of Desperate Man recounts an unwelcome confession of infidelity; oft watching the bar staff from the stage, Slow Day For Love hints at the loneliness of working late night hours; with up-beat Leaving Song shrugging off relationship obligations and hitting the road.

Anthemic On Our Own questions the existence of a higher power in the wake of Pope Benedict XVI 2010 visit to Edinburgh, whilst The Angels’ Share likens writer’s block and the passing of a band’s youth to the evaporation of distilling whisky.

“Catchy pop hooks and muscular playing mark them as a band that could ride the airwaves easily and at times there are whiffs of bands such as REM, The Jayhawks and Lone Justice” Blabber ‘n’ Smoke.

Keep It Together is “An album of songs that make you feel as though they matter and that make you want to care about the thoughts and poetry captured in the songs” Fatea Records.
